Fairly Random Friday: My December Goals

Welcome to the very first Fairly Random Friday here on Excuse This Honesty! Every Friday, I will be posting something completely random; this could be something I’ve been up to this week or maybe a review of something I’ve eaten!

This week, I’m going to kick off the Fairly Random Friday feature by discussing some of the things that I hope to have achieved by the end of December. I’d love for this to become a monthly feature on my blog, mostly because I feel like I don’t give myself enough credit for the things that I’ve achieved during the month, but also because I’m an incredibly goal-orientated person.

So, let’s jump right in. Here are my goals for December…

1. Make more time for myself

I’m one of those annoying people who will do anything for anyone else, but wont accept help when I’m the one that needs it. I know it’s annoying when you try to help someone who needs it but wont accept it, but that’s sadly just the way I am.

However, with the blog now taking up at least 3 days of my week, on top of my full-time job as a content writer, I think it’s time i started making more of an effort to listen to other people’s advice and put aside some time for myself.

Sometimes all I want to do is sleep… in one of my best friends’ bed… when I have a festival to attend. Oops.

Whether it’s just an early night with Netflix on my TV or a relaxed evening sat playing my backlog of games (too many to mention), I need to start taking time out from helping other people to make more for me.

2. Be More Social

Although I have been going out a little more lately (we went to Preston for Halloween and Liverpool last Friday) I feel like I haven’t actually socialised with many people outside of work for a loooong time.

I am heading out this evening for one of my best friend’s birthday party and I am expecting that it will be a great boost to my mood. I have a feeling that my bad moods that I’ve been in lately are heavily to do with feeling like i never get chance to see anyone outside of work.

Halloween 2015, assemble!

Fingers crossed!!!

3. To Find an Exercise Routine

I have a wedding to attend in April where I’m a bridesmaid, and I really want to make sure that the dress still fits by the time April rolls around.

I used to have an awesome exercise routine, and now it seems to have gone down the pan. I can’t keep making excuses. I need to get my ass into gear and settle back into a routine to slim me down and keep me looking toned.

This was me back in 2010. This is the way I want to look again (weight-wise… it’s tool cold for that style-wise)

For anyone who was wondering, I used to follow the 30 day shred. I might not have ever got past level one, but it really helped me with my confidence – something which is hard to boost most of the time.

4. Get Back Into Animation

This one is a hard one for me. After my final project hand-in in my last year at university, I felt like I was completely done with trying to animate anything. My final project was a mess, and had caused me way too many problems during the production which made me want to never look at 3D Studio Max ever again.

However, animation is an incredibly unusual skill, and I think that it has only just hit me how much I actually miss it.

Hello Mr. standard animation man. I’ve (really) missed you!

I’m not saying I’ll have something animated by the end of December, but a start on an animation plan would be a great way to kick off 2016. New year, new start.

5. To Promote Excuse This Honesty to a Whole New Audience

I know this blog is brand new and that followers don’t appear overnight, but I’m hoping that once I start getting in regular schedule, more people will start becoming interested in my content.

However, there are other things I need to do to kick-start this blog, and I want to make sure that I’m doing everything in my power to make that happen. I’m determined to make this blog a success and to do that, I only have myself to rely on.

I think five goals is plenty to be getting on with, don’t you? Be sure to check in with me in December to find out which ones I’ve been successful with, and which have been a downright failure.

As always, I’d like to thank you for taking the time to read this blog. Feel free to drop me a message over on Facebook or Twitter and leave me suggestions of some of the stuff that you’d like me to cover; Fairly Random Fridays are completely open for discussion, and I’d appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Thanks for reading, guys!
